The Songs of Bob Dylan - Honoring 50 Years of Amnesty International

A gravadora Universal Music reuniu vários artistas com o objetivo de regravar algumas obras de Bob Dylan. O resultado é que no início deste ano, foi lançado o álbum “Chimes of Freedom” (The Songs of Bob Dylan - Honoring 50 Years of Amnesty International), reunindo quatro discos com novas interpretações de temas do velho bardo, prestando um tributo aos 50 anos do álbum de estréia de Bob Dylan e ainda uma homenagem aos também 50 anos da Anistia Internacional.

O álbum faz um apanhado na obra de Mr. Zimmerman, por uma plêiade de nomes da música pop e rock mundial. A renda auferida com a venda da caixa, será revertida para a Anistia Internacional.

Vários artistas convidados para as regravações são bem conhecidos do público, como Pete Townshend; Diana Krall; Bryan Ferry; Joan Baez; Adele e Sting. Algumas canções que não poderiam faltar, lá estão, como “Blowin’ In The Wind” interpretada por Ziggy Marley e “Like a Rolling Stone” através de Seal e Jeff Beck.

Outros nomes convidados já causaram polêmica, casos de Ke$ha e Miley Cyrus. Além destes, Dave Mathews Band; Patti Smith; Elvis Costello; My Chemical Romance; Queens of Stone Age; Marianne Faithfull e Eric Burdon, além do próprio Bob, são alguns dos artistas que cantam Dylan, em gravações especialmente produzidas para este projeto.
